Those photos are too nice to be of the food crisis there. I was in Port-au-Prince last month. That place is a bit extreme for the Western Hemisphere. You can read my story on it, if you like, through my website, or directly at http://www.metadasein.com/sy/writing/haiti.htm.

Hey Shawn, I posted these pics (which had a Food Crisis header on Getty) because they captured human and natural beauty despite Haiti being so insanely poor and chaotic. (I’ve been down there too–summer 04.) Your journal form Port au is cool…Thanks for kind words.
